WHAT IS LIP BLUSHING?
Lip blushing uses a small handheld tattoo machine to implant pigment for natural-looking color that never smudges. This service is great for people who have a disappearing vermillion border and want a more defined shape or clients that just want a pop of color. We can customize color and density of saturation but our goal is generally a tinted lip balm look! While we cannot tattoo onto the skin- creating more definition with lip blushing can give the illusion of fuller lips. Appointments are ~3 hours in length and numbing is used throughout the service to keep clients comfortable. During the appointment, a pre-draw is done before starting any work so the shape can be approved. Color is custom mixed for each client. There is a mandatory touch-up at 6-10 weeks priced separately. All pre and post care must be followed. Please read the precare very carefully as it’s important to take precautions if you have a history of fever blisters, cold sores, or any other form of HSV. Maintenance is needed every 2-3+ years. Skin type, lifestyle, and other factors will affect long term results.

LIP BLUSH PRECARE
Following the precare is a very important part of getting your lips done. Clients who do not follow precare risk losing their deposit and forfeiting their appointment time.
Make sure your lips are being properly moisturized in the days leading up to your appointment. If you have ever had a cold sore or any other form of HSV you must be on an antiviral 3 days prior and 3 days after the appointment. Clients can take OTC l-lysine as a precaution if they’d like.

LIP BLUSH AFTERCARE
Immediately after:
Your lips may be swollen- this is normal. Feel free to use a cold compress wrapped in a clean paper towel if you’d like. Avoid eating spicy foods for 24 hours. If you were taking an antiviral or lysine continue to do so for 3 days.
For the first 5-7 days:
An aftercare balm will be given to you at the time of your appointment- apply this as needed throughout the day. Be sure to avoid saunas, sun exposure, swimming, and long steamy showers. Keep makeup away from the lip and surrounding area. They may start to flake slightly after a few days. Keep them clean and moisturized and do not pick or peel. If you’re following the aftercare you should not have heavy scabs but light flaking.
After the first week:
The color of your lips will change slightly as they heal. Lips may appear lighter after the dry skin flakes off. The color may deepen after they've had the chance to heal fully. We can address any concerns at the touchup 6-10 weeks later. Color and saturation can be adjusted at this time.
Future:
Do not have laser near your lip area (ipl). Some lasers may change the color of the ink.
